Qualification criteria
Organization is an 501(c)(3) registered organization located and operating in North Carolina
Project or program for funding request has a stated focus on serving youth in under-resourced communities
Single year grant funding, up to $10,000
Maximum of one application per calendar year
Program will create measurable community health, agriculture, education and/or technology outcomes
Community-based programs of religious organizations must be able to demonstrate a history of non-denominational participation by the broader community
If funded, the organization agrees to announce the award to their respective audiences through communication channels

Ebony Thomas (Chair)
President, Bank of America Charitable Foundation
Ebony A. Thomas is President of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation and is chief strategist for philanthropic support in areas such as economic mobility, employment and housing. She oversees the implementation of charitable programs associated with the financial institution’s environmental, social and governance initiatives. This includes the global Community Volunteers program, open to more than 200,000 employees, as well as the Neighborhood Builders and Neighborhood Champions programs, which provide funding and leadership training to non-profits across the nation. She is also responsible for the bank’s $1.25 billion, five-year Racial Equality and Economic Opportunity initiative to address barriers for people and communities of color. Committed to giving back with a focus on transforming approaches to student achievement, career success and improving generational socio-economic status in underserved communities, Ebony sits on the boards for Central Piedmont Community College, Disability:IN and Leading on Opportunity. She is also a member of the Board of Visitors for the School of Business at Howard University and North Carolina A&T State University, where she is a proud graduate of their BA English and History programs. She lives in Charlotte with her three children, Evan, Croix and Ellis.
