When you're on the phone and a local caller calls your line, you will hear a single, soft beep. If you do not take the incoming call, you will hear another soft beep 10 seconds later.
- Press the receiver, link or flash button on your phone to take the new call, and to alternate between calls.
- To end the first call before answering the second call, hang up. Your phone will ring. Pick it up to take the call.
To temporarily de-activate and re-activate Call Waiting:
In most areas of Alberta you can temporarily turn Call Waiting off. You might want to do this during fax or modem transmissions or when you'd prefer not to hear the beep.
To de-activate:
- Press *70 or 70# before you place a call.
- If you're already on the phone, press the receiver, link or flash button, then *70 or 70#.
To re-activate:
Call Waiting will automatically be re-activated when you hang up.
