How to use Talking Call Waiting

Talking Call Waiting announces the names of incoming callers when you're on the phone. First, Call Waiting beeps to notify you of an incoming call - then Talking Call Waiting announces the incoming caller. Only you hear the name of the incoming caller.

You can choose to handle the call in one of the following ways:

  • Put the first caller on hold and answer the incoming call by pressing the receiver, link or flash button.
  • Ignore the second call and let it go to TELUS Voice Mail (if you're a subscriber).

In some situations, your caller's name may not be announced. Instead, you may hear the following

  • Private Number
Your caller has blocked display of their name and number.
  • Unknown
The phone service your caller is using, or the area they are calling from does not support Call Display service.
