Personal webspace - upload files with TELUS File Manager

The following instructions explain how to upload your Web page to the TELUS Internet Services Web server using the TELUS File Manager. The File Manager is an online Web tool that allows you to manage your TELUS Internet Services Web space without using an FTP program. You can upload, remove and rename files as well as view how much space your site has used.

Step 1: Log into your Web space on the TELUS server

  1. Open a Web browser.
  2. Go to the File Manager: http://www3.telus.net/cgi-shared/filemgr.cgi
  3. You will be prompted to log in.
  4. Enter your TELUS Internet Web Service username and password (in lowercase letters with no spaces).
  5. Click Ok.
  6. Click the public_html folder to open it.

  7. If you have never uploaded files to the TELUS Web server before this folder will be empty.

Step 2: Copy your Web page files to the server

  1. Now that you're inside the public_html folder click Upload File.
  2. The Upload File screen will load, then you click Browse.

    Note: You must only upload files into the public_html directory. Any files uploaded to the same level (not inside the folder) will not be accessible via the Internet. As well all filenames must have no spaces, otherwise the Web server won't recognize them.

  3. Using the Choose File window navigate to your Web page files.
  4. Select the file you want to upload and click Open.

  5. Click Confirm.

  6. Once the upload has completed you will see a confirmation message and your new file added to the list below.

NOTE: You can only upload one file at a time. Repeat Step 2 to upload any additional files, such as images, etc.

Step 3: View your Web page

  1. Your Web page will now be published to your TELUS Internet Services Web space.
  2. You can view your Web page at http://www3.telus.net/public/yourusername.
