Web Reputation
The web reputation service warns you about security risks associated with websites by displaying a safety rating icon next to each search result from Google, Bing, Infoseek, OCN, and Yahoo! search sites. You should avoid opening sites marked as Suspicious (yellow icon) or Dangerous (red icon).
You can turn this service on or off in the web Reputation page.
Note:
- Installing a search engine extension, such as Surf Canyon, may prevent the web Reputation from functioning properly.
- The web Reputation service is not supported for 64-bit versions of Windows Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
- The web Reputation service is not supported for Google Chrome and Safari.
- The web Reputation service is not supported for Internet Explorer 6.
How it works
TELUS web Reputation rates websites based on their safety test results.
Features include
- Automatically rates the safety of website links associated with a web search.
- Five ratings type are supported (Safe: Green, Suspicious: Yellow, Dangerous: Red, Untested or No Response: Grey.
- Moving the mouse over a rating icon provides explanation of the rating.
- A toolbar is included for instant access to the web Reputation service. Note: A refresh is required after changing toolbar settings.
