How to use Call Forwarding
Call Forwarding allows you to forward calls to a pager, cellular phone, residential or business number (local or long distance) or to Voice Mail. The instructions are different depending on which Call Forwarding feature you have.

How to use Call Forwarding Variable
To activate:
- Press *72, listen for three beeps and then a dial tone again. (Note: 72# is required in some areas.)
- Dial the number you want your calls forwarded to. If that phone is answered, Call Forwarding is activated. If the number rings busy or goes unanswered, hang up and repeat the activation process within two minutes. You will hear an intermittent dial tone that confirms that Call Forwarding is activated.
To deactivate:
Press *73. You will hear two beeps. Hang up and Call Forwarding will be deactivated.
How to use Call Forwarding Busy
To activate:
Press *90. You will hear two beeps. Hang up and Call Forwarding will be activated.
To deactivate:
Press *91. You will hear two beeps. Hang up and Call Forwarding will be deactivated.
How to use Call Forwarding No Answer
To set number of rings:
- Press *94 and listen for three beeps and then the dial tone.
- Press the number of rings that you want your callers to hear (from 2 - 9). Hang up after you hear two beeps.
To activate:
Press *92. You will hear two beeps. Hang up and Call Forwarding will be activated.
To deactivate:
Press *93. You will hear two beeps. Hang up and Call Forwarding will be deactivated.
How to use Call Forwarding Fixed
To activate:
Press *72 or *79 (some areas of B.C. use 79#). Hang up and Call Forwarding will be activated.
To deactivate:
Press *73 (some areas in B.C. use 73#).
Hang up and Call Forwarding will be deactivated.
How to use Advanced Call Forwarding
Create a Calling Features Assistant password
Skip this step if you already have a Calling Features Assistant password.
- Dial into the Calling Features Assistant (310-8682) on a touch-tone phone. Your first call must be from the line on which Advanced Call Forwarding has been activated. The first time you access this service, you will be prompted to create a password. Enter your password, then press #. Make note of your password.
- Press * to exit.
Note: Once you have created your password, you will be able to dial the Calling Features Assistant from any touch-tone phone in any location. If you are calling from outside Alberta dial 1-403-263-6981 or 1-780-428-6824. From outside B.C. dial 1-604-520-3212. Long distance charges will apply.
Resetting you password
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it online.
To turn Advanced Call Forwarding on or off:
- Dial 310-8682.
- Enter your area code and phone number, then press # (only if away from home).
- Enter your password, then press #.
- From the Main Menu, press 1 for Advanced Call Forwarding.

Press 1 to turn the service on. Press 2 to turn it off.
Enter the number where you can be reached, exactly as you would dial it:
- For local numbers, enter the 7 or 10 digit number.
- For long distance numbers, enter 1 + area code + 7 digit number.
- For international numbers, enter 011 + country code + routing code + 7 digit number.
Creating a caller list
A caller list allows you to specify up to 25 numbers to be forwarded, or you can forward all calls.
- Dial 310-8682.
- Enter your area code and phone number, then press # (only if away from home).
- Enter your password, then press #.
- From the Main Menu, press 1 for Advanced Call Forwarding.
- Press 3 for your Caller List. Follow the prompts to add, play back, edit or make deletions to your Caller List.
A schedule allows you to to turn Advanced Call Forwarding on or off automatically.
To set up a schedule:
- Dial 310-8682.
- Enter your area code and phone number, then press # (only if away from home).
- Enter your password, then press #.
- From the Main Menu, press 1 for Advanced Call Forwarding.
- Press 4 to set up a schedule.
- Follow the prompts to create a schedule. Enter the schedule by day, start and end times. You can then play back, edit, delete or activate your schedule.
