Change the batteries in your 2GIG equipment

Wireless thin door/window sensor

  1. Make sure the system is disarmed

  2. To remove the sensor cover, use your finger to press the tab on the end of the case. This disengages the clip holding the cover to the base

  3. Place a small flathead screwdriver in the slot between the metal clip and battery and twist the screwdriver slightly while holding back one of the black plastic edges holding the battery

  4. Insert two new CR2032 lithium coin batteries with the plus (+) sign facing up

  5. Verify programming and RF communication with the Control Panel

  6. Dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs

4 button key ring remote

  1. Before changing the batteries, make sure your system is disarmed

  2. Use a precision Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the only screw where we have the key ring and remove the back plate

  3. Remove the old battery by gently sliding out of it’s tray

  4. Insert the replacement CR2025 3V lithium coin battery. The (+) sign on the battery should be facing up

  5. Replace the back plate and screw it back in place

  6. Test whether your replacement is successful by pressing and holding the unlock button. If the LED lights up RED, the batteries are properly installed

CO detector

  1. Remove the detector from its mounting base by twisting the detector counterclockwise

  2. Remove the old battery. To ensure proper power-down sequence, wait a minimum of 20 seconds before installing the new battery

  3. Install a new 3-volt CR123A Lithium battery. Follow the polarity diagram inside the compartment. If the battery is incorrectly inserted, remove gently with a non-conductive tool and correctly reinsert

  4. Reinstall onto the mounting base by turning the detector clockwise

  5. After the power-up sequence, the green LED should blink about once every 12 seconds to indicate normal operations. If the battery is not installed correctly, the detector will not operate and the battery may be damaged

Flood detector

  1. Make sure the system is disarmed and go to installer menu of the panel (in some panels this sensor is programmed for 24 hours and tampering the sensor can trigger an alarm)

  2. Open and separate the sensor case

  3. Remove the battery. Wait two (2) seconds

  4. Replace the battery using a new CR2 lithium battery. Close sensor

  5. Wait one minute and then you can exit the installer menu

Glass break detector

  1. Make sure the system is disarmed and go to installer menu of the panel (in some panels this sensor is programmed for 24 hours and tampering the sensor can trigger an alarm)

  2. Remove the cover from the base by twisting it counterclockwise

  3. Replace with two CR123A lithium batteries and twist back the sensor on the backplate

  4. Please take note of the polarity of the battery. Improper handling of lithium batteries may result in heat generation, explosion or fire, which may lead to personal injuries

  5. Please dispose of the used battery by contacting your local battery recycling programs

Motion sensor

  1. Make sure your system is disarmed

  2. Press the tab at the top of the sensor and pull open the back removing the front piece off of the back mounting plate

  3. Remove the CR123A 3V lithium battery

  4. Slide in the new CR123A 3V lithium battery and align it with the polarity on the sensor

  5. Attach the hinges back

Smoke sensor

  1. Remove the smoke alarm from its mounting base by twisting the smoke alarm counterclockwise

  2. Remove the old battery and to ensure proper power-down sequence, wait a minimum of 20 seconds before installing new batteries

  3. Insert a new CR123A 3V lithium battery in the battery compartment. Follow the polarity diagram inside the compartment

  4. Reinstall the smoke alarm onto the mounting base by turning the smoke alarm clockwise

Panic button remote

  1. To avoid any panic signals during the battery replacement process, make sure your system is disarmed.

  2. Insert a small, flathead screwdriver into the opening on the panic button. Then remove the top cover

  3. Gently insert the flathead screwdriver between the battery and one of the metal clips in the battery compartment. Then remove the old battery

  4. Insert the replacement CR2032 lithium battery with the positive (+) sign facing up

  5. If you remove the circuit board (not recommended), ensure the LED aligns with the appropriate hole on the top cover

  6. Verify that the panic button is programmed into the control panel and ensure that it has quality radio frequency (RF) communications with the panel

  7. Replace the panic button top cover

Secondary analog keypad

  1. Press the hinged tabs on top of the keypad to separate the mounting plate from the unit

  2. Place a small flathead screwdriver in the slot between the metal clip and the battery

  3. Twist the screwdriver slightly while holding the black plastic edges holding the battery

  4. Insert the two replacement CR2032 lithium batteries in the compartment. The plus (+) sign of both batteries should be facing up and the minus (-) side facing down

  5. Ensure that the programming settings are correct

Control panel

  1. Before you begin, disarm and power down your panel

  2. Locate and remove the screw on the top of the keypad

  3. Gently pull down the front cover down. Do not let go of the cover when removing the front from the panel

  4. Locate the third hand (a plastic piece resembling an upside down “V”) and place it over the notch in the centre of the cover. This will allow the front cover to gently hold onto the panel

  5. Locate the green battery pack and remove the clip that connects the battery’s red and black wire to the circuit board

  6. Remove the original battery. You may use your flathead screwdriver to gently remove the battery from its place

  7. Insert the new 2GIG panel battery and plug back in the clip

  8. Unhook the third hand and close the cover. Press the cover to the panel shut until it snaps into place

  9. Replace the screws at the top of the keypad and let panel charge for 24 hours

Tools required
: A small to medium flathead screwdriver.
