Important new features and updates for TELUS Business Connect 25.1 release
The latest core release for TELUS Business Connect® 25.1 will be implemented on February 26, 2025. Updates for the Desktop and Mobile App will be implemented on March 10. Here is a summary of the new features available, which edition they impact and the updates which are part of the release.
Unified Desktop App
To simplify administration and improve the user experience, the following update will be implemented on March 10, 2025 and will be available for the Enhanced, Complete and Complete Plus editions:

The following updates will be implemented on March 10, 2025 to provide a more user-friendly experience. They will be available for all editions except Voice.

The following updates will be available for all editions:
We’ve simplified call screening: You can turn on the feature, hear the incoming caller’s recorded name and are given the option to press

to accept the call. You can set call screening to be turned on always, never or under certain conditions.
You can now disable users’ ability to enable Do Not Disturb (DND): When the DND control toggle is turned off, users will not be able to see or change their DND status in the following:
Profile
menu
Incoming call rules
Voicemail (IVR)
menu
To avoid fraud and misuse, you can restrict emails to come from specific email domains. For example, you can set up your account to only include users with your email domain (postponed from 24.4 release).
In Voice Manager, under
Settings
in the
Security
tab, you can now change your password, PIN and security questions in their respective fields so that one update doesn't affect the others (postponed from the 24.4 release).
Note
: This update is not available to single sign-on (SSO) users.
You can disable the
RingOut
feature for certain users: In the past, disabling this feature could only be done across the entire account.
Multi-site customers have more control over group-extension membership: When
Restrict group extension members
is turned on, site administrators can add members to group extensions based on their role domain.
Restrict group extension members
can be turned on for the following features and extensions: call queues, call monitoring and park locations.
You can assign one or more sites to the role domain of a site administrator based on which site(s) they are allowed to configure.
Integrations
The following updates are available for Voice Plus, Enhanced, Complete and Complete Plus editions:
To reach more markets and increase adoption, Business Connect Direct Routing feature is now able to support the following Microsoft 365 license types for MS Teams Direct Routing 2.0: Government (G), Frontline (F), Education (A) and Business Premium.
With MS Teams Direct Routing 2.0, you now have the option of notifying users whenever direct routing is enabled for them.
Hardware
These updates are available for all editions except Voice:
The
Pagination Feature Parameter
is now enabled by default for VVX 250/350/450.
The VVX models now support the following number of lines:
VVX 250: 16 lines
VVX 350: 24 lines
VVX 450: 48 lines
Key assignments for left, right and down keys will be changed to accommodate new line keys.
Synchronized Do Not Disturb (DND) is now available on the following Yealink phones: T33G, T34W, T43U/T46U/T48U and T53W/T54W/T57W.
