Activate your TELUS Business email on an Android device

Instructions to set up your business email account on an Android device

  1. From the home screen, tap
    Menu

  2. Select
    Settings

  3. Scroll down to accounts and select
    Add account

  4. Select the type of account you would like to add

  5. Type your business email address

  6. Type your password

  7. Select
    Next
    Note
    : If your smartphone can't automatically set up your business email account, you'll have to set it up manually.
    Otherwise, skip to step 8

    • Select the type of account

    • Type your username

    • Type your password

    • Type your POP3 or IMAP server name. If you're not sure of these settings, contact your email provider for details

    • Select the security type. Typically this should be set to none

    • Select
      Next

    • Type the SMTP server
      Note
      : If you're using a Wi-Fi network connection, you may need to use the SMTP (outgoing mail) server associated with your Wi-Fi Internet service provider

    • Select the security type. Typically this should be set to none

    • Type the port. Typically, this is 25, 587, or 465 with SSL
      Note
      : For TELUS.net accounts, use port 1025

    • If you're setting up a telus.net email account, place a checkmark in the require sign-in check box

    • Select
      Next

    • Set your personal preferences for email check frequency and select
      Next

  8. Give this account a name. This is optional and can be whatever will allow you to identify this business account

  9. Type your name. This is the name that displays to recipients of your sent email

  10. Tap
    Done
