Your security system is connected to a network that will be phasing out starting July 31, 2025 and will require a mandatory upgrade to remain monitored. Without this upgrade, TELUS may no longer be able to monitor your premises or call the authorities in the case of an alarm event or an emergency as we currently are doing.

Why is the 3G network shutting down?
3G is the third generation of wireless communication used by major cellular carriers, which allows mobile devices to access the Internet. Since its launch, 4G, 4G LTE and now 5G technology have emerged allowing for even faster data transfers around the world., which TELUS utilizes in our alarm systems.
The previous generations of mobile networks will retire and devices, such as your alarm system must be upgraded to maintain communications with our monitoring station. As the focus shifts to the latest 4G LTE network (and even 5G) with enhanced reliability, the 3G wireless networks are being retired across the industry. There are US network carriers that have already retired 3G, and Canadian networks are expected to soon follow. It’s best to stay ahead of the game and get your upgrade now when there are plenty of appointment dates to choose from that fit with your schedule.
