Internet service and rate updates

Starting from March 2025, the regular monthly rate for Internet will increase by $5 for customers on a month-to-month service term, with the exception of Internet 750, PureFibre® Internet 2.5G, select PureFibre Gigabit Internet and PureFibre Internet 1.5G customers. If you’re in a 24-month term, the $5 increase to the regular Internet rate will not apply until the first bill after your term expires.

You can check eligibility for price protection to avoid rate increases during a term commitment on Internet and/or Optik® services. You can also sign up for free unlimited Internet data (regular price $20 per month) for 24 months* by logging in to your My TELUS account and adding a new term. If you’re a TELUS or Koodo mobility customer, you can save an additional $10 per month on Internet for having mobility services with us.**

If you are an Internet only customer, you may be eligible for a $10 per month discount for 24 months on the regular rate of your Internet plan. If you are an Internet and Optik customer, you may be eligible for a $10 per month discount for 24 months on the regular rate of your Internet plan and $5 per month discount for 24 months on the regular rate of your Optik plan.

Taking a new term before March 1 via the process described above will allow you to avoid the rate changes occurring March 1, 2023. Starting with your March 2023 bill, the regular monthly rate for select Internet plans will increase by $5, excluding Internet 300, Internet 750, Gigabit Internet, 1.5 Gigabit Internet and 2.5 Gigabit Internet plans and the regular monthly rate for Optik Essentials will increase by $3.

Effective March 1, 2023 the regular monthly rate for some a la carte Optik TV theme packs will increase between $1 and $8. You can avoid the rate changes to a la carte theme packs by adding an Optik TV combo.

Theme packs that are included inside an Optik TV combo are not subject to the theme pack rate increase and selecting a combo may provide you with additional content and greater value than your current selection. You can do this by logging into My TELUS and selecting in the Home Services section and to add a combo to your account.If you are currently in a service agreement that is rate-protected, your price is guaranteed and the $5 increase will not apply until the first bill after your term expires.

You can avoid the internet rate increase, get price protection on your internet plan, and redeem a discount on the regular rate of your internet plan by adding a new 24 month term to your internet services.

Canadians have relied upon our networks more than ever throughout the pandemic, and our technicians have worked around the clock to ensure our customers have access to the services they need to work, learn and stay connected wherever they are. Each year, we invest billions of dollars in our networks to maintain the capacity, speed and reliability that Canadians expect from us. In March, we froze the cost of all services, waived mobility overages, suspended roaming charges through April and waived all home Internet overages through the end of June.

If you are currently in a month-to-month service term, starting with your November 2020 bill, the monthly rate for your Internet plan will increase by $5. If you are in a 24-month term, your price is guaranteed, and the $5 increase will not apply until the first bill after your term expires. This offer is valid until January 31, 2021 and we will credit any increase applied on your bill if you add a new term by January 31, 2021.

We remain committed to supporting our customers who identified financial hardship due to the pandemic with flexible payment terms, and will continue working with them on a case-by-case basis over the coming weeks and months.
