TELUS SmartHome Security and TELUS Secure Business are now available in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan
Vancouver – TELUS has launched
TELUS SmartHome Security
and TELUS Secure Business
, marking its entrance to the smart home and business security market. The company’s recent acquisition of AlarmForce customers in Western Canada helped to provide the foundation for the two new offerings, which have replaced the AlarmForce brand in Western Canada. Both TELUS SmartHome Security and TELUS Secure Business are available now in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan.“TELUS has a long history of delivering innovative technologies to both consumers and businesses and we are proud to now offer security and automation solutions to help protect what matters most and streamline control of connected devices,” said Jason Macdonnell, Senior Vice-president, TELUS SmartHome Security and Secure Business. “Powered by our award-winning networks and entirely controlled from a smartphone app, TELUS’ security solutions provide integrated, flexible systems to make our customers feel safe, empowered and in control.”
Both TELUS SmartHome Security and TELUS Secure Business are fully-managed through one easy-to-use smartphone app, which provides a system dashboard for quick access to alerts, status updates and controls for automated devices. The app also allows for 24/7 two-way voice monitoring, instantly connecting your smartphone to the monitoring service when an alarm is triggered.
TELUS SmartHome Security provides cutting-edge security and automation technology for residential customers. A highly customizable solution, customers can tailor TELUS SmartHome Security with a selection of indoor and outdoor cameras, smart locks, connected lighting, doorbell cameras, window and door sensors, smart thermostats, garage door controllers, and smoke, flood and carbon monoxide detectors. Users are also able to interact with their system via voice assistants like Google Home or Amazon Alexa and create custom “scenes” that run multiple commands at once. For example, a “goodnight” scene could instruct the system to lower the heat on the thermostat, turn off the lights, lock the doors and arm the security panel - all from a simple voice command.
TELUS Secure Business offers security solutions that help small businesses run safely and smoothly, through a powerful suite of integrated smart automation, intrusion monitoring and video surveillance solutions. TELUS Secure Business leverages the same 24/7 professional monitoring and guard response service as TELUS SmartHome Security, augmenting it with powerful policy and control capabilities that allow business owners and managers to operate more efficiently and better manage risk. For example, a restaurant owner can be notified when a fridge or freezer is left open to prevent food spoilage, or a retail manager can ensure their stores opened on time and can see who opened them.
Customers who have both TELUS Mobility and other TELUS home solutions products could pay as little as $25 per month on a three-year term for their SmartHome Security. The potential savings customers could see on their home insurance premiums and energy bills can help to significantly offset the monthly cost. TELUS Secure Business plans start at just $35 per month on a fixed term when bundled with small business wireless and wireline services.
