Can I keep my number?

Yes you can, as long as you have not canceled your service with your current provider and your account is in good standing. Once you’ve received your SIM card, you can transfer your number to TELUS using MyTELUS. For more details and step-by-step instructions, see our support article:

Will my phone work on the TELUS Mobile network?

Most phones purchased in North America or Europe will be compatible with the TELUS 4G and/or 4G LTE/LTE Advanced networks. If you are unsure, please contact Customer Care via chat.

I have a phone locked to another carrier. What do I do?

If your phone is locked to a carrier other than TELUS, you will need to contact that carrier to receive unlocking instructions directly from them. If your phone is locked to TELUS, you do not need to unlock it to activate on a BYOD plan.

Where can I activate my new SIM card?

Your SIM card will be shipped active - all you need to do is insert your card into your device. If you encounter issues after inserting your card, please contact Customer Care via chat to troubleshoot.

I want to bring my own phone but need a new number. What do I do?

Not a problem! Your TELUS BYOD activation will provide you with a new phone number assigned to a new SIM card. Just insert the new SIM card into your device and the new number will become active.

How do I set up data and picture messaging on my Android device?

If your Android phone was purchased overseas it may not be able to immediately access our data network - you will have to update your phone settings. For more details and step-by-step instructions, see our support article:
