Learn how to find, view and purchase On Demand programming on Optik TV.
Optik TV has a variety of ways for you to enjoy your favourite shows and movies On Demand. This page contains directions on browsing, ordering and viewing On Demand programming on Optik TV.
How to browse and order On Demand programming
For HD and 4K Digital Box users
:- Select theOn Demandbutton on your remote control
- Navigate toTV On Demand
- TV On Demandcontains both free and premium programming
- Use the right arrow to browser the desired category
- Select your desired title. PressOK
- SelectOrder options. A pop-up window will display the video quality options for which you qualify
- Select the version you want to order. Your programming will begin to play
For TELUS TV Digital Box or TELUS TV+ app users
:- Navigate to theOn Demandtab. If using the TELUS TV Digital Box, this can be done by selecting theOn Demandbutton on your remote control
- Select from a variety ofOn Demandshows, movies and channels
- Once you select your program of choice, you will be presented with the ability to watch it for free, rent the program or Own on OptikTM. Learn more about Own on OptikTMbelow
How to redeem On Demand coupons
For HD and 4K Digital Box users
:To view active On Demand coupons, you can visit the
Deals | Coupons
section in the On Demand menu.There you can learn about your coupon value, expiry date, how to redeem the movie and much more. To access the
Deals | Coupons
section, press the On Demand
button on your remote and scroll down to the deals and coupons section in the main menu.To redeem your coupon
:- Press the On Demand or Video On Demand button on your remote control
- Select a category in the main menu
- Use the right arrow to browse the desired category
- Use the arrows to browse titles
- Select the desired title. PressOK
- SelectOrder options. A pop-up window will display the video quality options for which you qualify
- Select the version you want to order. Your movie will begin to play
After redeeming your coupon
When redeeming an On Demand coupon you will see a price displayed. You will not be charged when ordering On Demand programming that is of equal or lesser value to your coupon. You can order On Demand programming that is of greater value than the coupon.
The coupon value would be deducted off the total price. The On Demand coupon will be applied and reflected in your next TELUS bill. Coupons can only be used once and will automatically apply to the first Video On Demand content watched after the coupon becomes available. Any remaining value will be forfeited.
For TELUS TV Digital Box or TELUS TV+ app users
If you have a valid VOD coupon on your account, you no longer need to manually apply the coupon. The associated discount from the coupon will be automatically applied at checkout on your next VOD purchase.

How to browse Kids Zone
Note
: Kids Zone is only available for HD and 4K Digital Box users. If you are using a TELUS TV Digital Box or the TELUS TV+ app, the Kids
category under On Demand
features children friendly programming, and similar functionality can be found by creating a Kids Profile

The Kids Zone includes a combination of free programming as well as subscription based, On Demand programs. Free programs include SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Henry Danger. If you are a subscriber to specialty channels such as the Cartoon Network, Treehouse or Disney Channel, you can watch On Demand programming. If you are not a subscriber, you will need to sign up for the channels in order to access on Demand programming

:- The Kids channel section contains programming that requires a subscription. Only YTV is free
- When in Kids Zone, the search function only searches for shows within the Kids Zone to protect your child from inappropriate programming
Own on Optik
In addition to movie rentals, movies can also be purchased and watched again through Own on Optik
TM
. These select titles may be made available one to four weeks before they are available to rent On Demand or purchase in-store. With the click of a button, you can start watching movies sooner, easier and faster. Titles available to Own on OptikTM
will be marked with a purple Own on OptikTM
banner. If you can’t see or access your Own on Optik shows, please check if the possible issue below applies to you:
Billing issues
If your Optik TV account is suspended due to non-payment, you won’t be able to view your movies and TV shows. Once your balance is paid in full, access to your Own on Optik purchases will be restored as long as they are still available in our On Demand library.
Platform migration
Own on Optik is currently available through the On Demand platform. In the event this platform is upgraded or replaced, some titles may not be transferable. TELUS will ensure that you have alternate access to the title as long as you keep your Optik TV service.

: Purchasing a movie will not impact your PVR storage. All movies can be accessed through the My Videos
section in the main menu of Optik On Demand

For HD and 4K Digital Box users
: - PressOn Demandon your remote to view your current rentals
- Use the arrows to select theMy Videosfolder
- Use the arrows to select titles you’ve purchased through Own on OptikTM, or enterMy Rentalsto access rented programs
- Select what you would like to watch and selectOK
- SelectWatchto start playing your programming. You can watch your rentals as many times as you want within the rental period (48 hours for most rentals), while programs purchased through Own on OptikTMdon’t have an expiry period
For TELUS TV Digital Box or TELUS TV+ app users
:- Navigate toHome. If using the TELUS TV Digital Box, this can be done by selecting theHomeicon on your remote control
- Navigate toPurchases. There you will see both rentals as well as programs you’ve purchased through Own on OptikTM. You can watch your rentals as many times as you want within the rental period (48 hours for most rentals), while programs purchased through Own on OptikTMdon’t have an expiry period
How to use My Optik Collection on your computer
My Optik Collection lets you download your Optik TV purchases and watch on the go. You can use the app on up to five Mac or PC computers.
Note
: My Optik Collection is not currently available for TELUS TV Digital Box or TELUS TV+ app users. However, On Demand programming can still be purchased and viewed on any device that supports the TELUS TV+ app. Instructions to use My Optik Collection

- Titles will be made available in My Optik Collection for personal use as long as they're made available through the On Demand library or My Optik Collection (subject to provider licencing agreements)
- All titles must be downloaded in Canada for offline viewing
How to link My Optik Collection to your Google Account
Once you have logged into My Optik Collection with your My TELUS credentials, you may link your Google account to My Optik Collection. This will ensure that you will maintain access to your Optik TV purchases indefinitely.
To link your Google account to My Optik Collection, please follow these instructions
:- Log in to My Optik Collection with your My TELUS account credentials
- ChooseSettings(gear icon)
- SelectGoogle Accountfrom the left hand menu
- SelectLink New Google Accountfrom the right-side of the screen
- A Google sign-in window will appear. Sign into Google with your Google credentials
- When complete, your Google address will be shown as linked within the My Optik Collection app
To unlink your Google account to My Optik Collection, follow these instructions
:- Log in to My Optik Collection with your My TELUS account credentials
- ChooseSettings(gear icon)
- SelectGoogle Accountfrom the left hand menu
- SelectUnlink Google Accountfrom the right-side of the screen

How long will my On Demand purchases be available?
Program rental duration is 48 hours for most rentals. Your rental access duration is specified during purchase. Own on Optik
TM
do not have an expiration date, and can be watched again and again. Where can I find my rented and purchased On Demand programs?
Rented and purchased On Demand programs are found under the
My Videos
section in the main menu of Optik On Demand for HD and 4K Digital Box users, or under the Purchases
section in the Home
menu for TELUS TV Digital Box and TELUS TV+ app users. What are Early Home Premieres?
Early Home Premieres are movies that are made available to rent months earlier than usual. While you’d normally have to go to a theatre to catch these films, you can now watch them from the comfort of home.
These rentals are marked with a pink “Early Home Premiere” banner, and will cost more than standard rentals.
If I purchased an On Demand title on one profile, will it be available on another profile?
Yes. All On Demand programs purchased will be available on all profiles associated under the same TELUS account. However, Kids Profiles will only be able to see the On Demand programs rated PG or G.
How long can My Optik Collection titles be playable on my computer?
You will need to open the My Optik Collection application while connected to the internet once every 90 days to keep your titles licensed. If it has been longer than 90 days, simply open My Optik Collection while your computer is online and your titles will be re-licensed automatically.
Can I connect my computer to a TV to view My Optik Collection titles?
Yes. You can connect your computer to a TV with an HDMI cable and/or adapter provided that your TV is HDCP compliant.
I bought a 4K HDR title. Why can’t I download that onto My Optik Collection and play it on an HDR TV from my computer?
You will only be able to download the HD version of the 4K HDR title you purchased. This is due to licensing restrictions.
What happens if I lose or no longer use a device for My Optik Collection?
Log out of that device by following these steps within the app:
- SelectSettings
- SelectLog out
- If you would like to use another device, simply download My Optik Collection on that device and login
What happens if I download My Optik Collection onto a sixth device?
You are able to login to a sixth device. However, you will be automatically logged out of the device you haven’t used for the longest period of time.
Where are my titles being stored?
Downloaded titles will be stored on your computer. The average size per file is 5GB.
Why am I being asked to download a title I already downloaded?
After three months of offline viewing, you will be asked to re-download a title to ensure that the title license is up-to-date.
Why aren’t all of my titles displayed in My Optik Collection?
Due to rights availability, some titles may not be available on My Optik Collection.
Why can’t I see my On Demand rentals in My Optik Collection?
On Demand rentals are not available on My Optik Collection. This app will only be populated with movies you own. The price of purchased content ranges from $15 to $25.
Why aren’t my purchases immediately showing up in My Optik Collection?
It may take up to two hours for recently purchased titles to appear. To see the latest list of available titles, click on the
refresh
