TELUS Easy Payment®

The program allows you to spread the cost of your device over 24 months. Your TELUS Easy Payment® is the amount you pay each month that goes towards paying back the pre-tax balance of your device cost.

After signing up for TELUS Easy Payment®, you will notice that your bill may be higher than expected due to upfront sales taxes on the device purchase. The tax is calculated on the full cost of the device upfront after purchase. As a result, the monthly amount you repay towards your TELUS Easy Payment® term is not subject to any taxes since the full taxes are billed on the initial bill.

After this billing period, rest assured that your next bill will show regular tax charges on your monthly services if there are no further plan changes.

Some devices for Mobility customers will also require a lump sum payment of the total device cost. Please also note that promotional bill credits may be removed if you recently changed your rate plan or if you renewed your service.

Below is an example that explains the upfront taxes and lump sum payment for Easy Payment.

: The TELUS Easy Payment® Balance is the upfront reduction off the retail price of the device, which will be spread over the course of 24 months.

: The taxes are calculated based on the total device cost less any device discounts and must be paid in full at the time of purchase. The tax rate is based on the province where the purchase is made and the rate is charged on the total cost of the device. You will also be taxed on your regular monthly service charge.

TELUS Mobility customers will see the summary below on their bill.

: The amount that must be paid at the time of purchase, this would include the device price as well as taxes. If this amount is not paid at the time of purchase it will show on your next bill.

: TELUS Easy Payment® Charge (24 mos): The TELUS Easy Payment® Balance, divided into equal payments over 24 months. These monthly charges will not be taxed as taxes were already paid upfront on the cost of the device.

: This is the starting TELUS Easy Payment® Balance that is being paid through the 24 monthly payments.

: The monthly drawdown of the TELUS Easy Payment® Balance paid on the bill for 24 months

: Remaining TELUS Easy Payment® Balance after deduction of monthly payments paid to date.

: The starting Device Discount Balance is the discount that a customer receives on the price of their phone when they sign up for a contract or renew their contract. It is the initial amount that is applied towards reducing the cost of the device.

: Your current device discount balance is the remaining balance on the upfront discount you receive towards your device at the time of purchase. This balance decreases each month until it reaches zero at the end of the contract term. If you decide to upgrade or cancel your device before the end of your service term, you will need to pay back the remainder of this discount.

: Sum of total monthly payments paid to date by the customer.
