Fueling growth for North American companies

FrontWell Capital Partners provides strategic funding solutions to private companies that need to look beyond traditional sources of capital.
They pride themselves on their flexibility and responsiveness to better support their customers across Canada and the U.S. A scalable and resilient IT infrastructure is paramount to achieve this level of service. As their business grew, the team recognized the importance of partnering with a Toronto-based managed IT service provider (MSP) so they could get back to what they do best.

The challenge

Before TELUS Business, the team wasn’t getting the IT support or proactive planning they needed to help them with innovative IT strategies. They knew their business could benefit from comprehensive support to better serve their customers. They wanted to make the investment to
improve cybersecurity measures
, modernize their cloud capabilities and get a 24/7 help desk to address IT issues that arise so they can focus on their business.
We saw the potential and made our IT needs a priority for our organization. Reacting when something IT-related goes wrong is not enough for a modern business.”

The solution

FrontWell searched for managed IT services in Toronto and decided on TELUS Business as their strategic IT partner to help them build a more scalable and resilient IT infrastructure with their TELUS Fully Managed solutions.
Our Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) team worked with the financing company to build
business-aligned IT strategies
that would help drive impact and get a higher return on their investment. Over an eight-month period, our team designed and implemented an ambitious IT roadmap that included many initiatives:
1.Migrations to Microsoft 365 and Sharepoint
Helped enhance collaboration, scalability, productivity, security and overall business efficiency.
2. Server and network clean-up
This re-configuration helped optimize performance, better allocate resources, improve reliability, standardize compliance and mitigate potential cybersecurity risks.
3. New Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution
Modernized communications capabilities provided FrontWell with more cost savings and extra mobility options for their employees.
4. Enhanced data backup with new policies
Implemented a data protection strategy by providing security, reducing data loss risk, supporting business continuity, ensuring compliance and efficient recovery tools.
5. New
cybersecurity
measures
The company’s defenses were bolstered by implementing new security features, including Managed Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and new phishing protocols. These measures provide proactive threat detection, incident response capabilities,
employee awareness
and compliance adherence.

The results

Collectively, these initiatives contributed to a more scalable, resilient and secure IT environment to increase efficiency and mitigate cybersecurity risk. FrontWell now has a more modern IT infrastructure designed to support their organization during their growth. The cloud-based solutions implemented can scale and adapt as the needs of their business and customers change.
The cleanup exercise enabled them to cut their server count by 50 percent, reducing the need for new capital expenditures down the line. TELUS Business continues to provide them with ongoing, proactive IT services, full end-user technical support, as well as hardware and software provisioning as part of their long-term technology plan.
“We needed a proactive IT partner that could help us plan and ensure that our technology supports all aspects of our business. TELUS Business had the vision and the skill to make that happen.”
