TELUS Swing for a Cure 2024: Surpassing goals in the fight against breast cancer
Data and Voice · Sep 23, 2024
The 12th annual TELUS Swing for a Cure golf tournament has once again demonstrated the power of community in the fight against breast cancer. This year's event, held at the beautiful Blue Springs Golf Club in Acton, Ontario, not only brought together 128 leaders from the telecommunications and technology sectors but also shattered its fundraising goals.
Breaking records for a vital cause
What began as an ambitious target of $25,000 – symbolically representing the estimated number of Canadian women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year – evolved into an extraordinary achievement of $40,000 in donations. For the first time, these funds will be channeled through the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation before being donated in their entirety to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). This remarkable success has pushed the tournament's 12-year contribution total to an impressive $300,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
A day of purpose and partnership
The event featured a full day of activities, including a pro-lead golf clinic, on-course mini games, an evening wine and cocktail function, and an awards ceremony at dinner. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our generous sponsors who made this event possible. For a complete list of our valued sponsors, please visit our
Impact and future vision
Nancy Yarmel, Director of Leadership Giving at the Canadian Cancer Society, shared valuable insights about the significant impact of such fundraising initiatives. Looking forward
