SmartEnergy
: A groundbreaking energy management service within our SmartHome+ app. This intuitive experience is designed to educate and empower Canadians to save on their monthly energy bills, earn TELUS Rewards
, and support reforestation efforts by planting up to four trees per year for each customer.
What is SmartEnergy?
SmartEnergy is a comprehensive home energy management service that tracks energy usage, automates energy saving routines and provides tips and tricks to help you make smarter energy consumption decisions.
In combination with energy savings events (a window of time when linked smart devices will automatically adjust their state to reduce energy consumption and will return to their initial state when the event is over) TELUS SmartEnergy makes it easy to save money on your annual energy bills.
In addition to saving you money, our mission is to help utilities from coast-to-coast find relief from the ever-increasing demand and pressure on the energy grid. As more and more customers choose SmartEnergy, we’ll be able to help give energy back to the grid when needed– especially during peak hours.
How does SmartEnergy work?
The SmartHome+ app guides you through the pairing of compatible smart plugs and smart thermostats and helps you easily create routines and automations to save you money on your energy bills. As you participate in energy saving events, you can even earn TELUS Rewards!
Here’s how:
- Install and use a compatiblesmart thermostatto optimize home heating and cooling routines, helping to balance overall comfort and energy efficiency.
- Connect high-energy consuming devices such as televisions, gaming consoles, portable AC units and space heaters tosmart plugsto stop them from using energy even when they are turned off.
- Set up custom energy saving routines and automation schedules through your connected smart devices to make your home even more energy efficient.
- Participate in energy savings events and earnTELUS Rewards.
