Configure a customized and secured Wi-Fi network on the Actiontec T1200H or T2200H
Your Actiontec
T1200H or T2200H
wireless gateway includes a preconfigured home Wi-Fi network. The name (SSID) and password of your Wi-Fi network are printed on a label affixed to the side of your wireless gateway.
To configure a customized and secured Wi-Fi network, and connect to the Internet wirelessly, follow these steps using a wired Internet connection:
Open your Web browser
Enter the following in the address bar:
192.168.1.254
Press the
Enter
key on your keyboard to display the
Home Screen
To launch a session, enter the following information:
Username:
admin
Password: The password is printed on the side of your gateway under
GUI Access
(unless you have changed it)
Select
Login
to display the
Welcome
screen
If this is the first time you have logged into your gateway, you will be asked if you would like to change your password
On the next screen, select
Wireless Setup
to display the
Basic Settings
screen
Complete the following fields:
Wireless Radio: Select
Enable
.
SSID Broadcast: Select
Enable
SSID Name: The name you and others will see when searching for your wireless network
Security: For enhanced security,
WPA/WPA2
is recommended
WPA Type: Select
WPA or WPA2 Personal
Encryption: Select
All
Security Key Type): Select
Use Custom Passphrase,
clear the corresponding text box, then enter your desired password (between 8 and 63 characters).
Note:
Your password must consist of letters, numbers or a combination of both.
Select
Apply
