Record an episode or series on your TELUS Business Optik TV

Learn how to record a single episode or entire series plus tips on settings

You can record up to 6 programs simultaneously from anywhere at work on your TELUS Personal Video Recorder (PVR).

Record a single episode

  1. Press
    Guide
    on your remote control

  2. Highlight the program you wish to record

  3. Press
    Rec
    or
    Record
    . A red dot will appear next to the item in the program guide

Record a series

  1. Press
    Guide
    on your remote control

  2. Highlight the program you wish to record

  3. Press
    Rec
    or
    Record
    twice. A series record icon (3 red dots) will appear in the program guide

Note
: You can also set a recording while watching a program by pressing
Record
and a series by pressing
Record
again.

Customize recording settings

Extend your recording time

Your Business Optik PVR allows you to extend your recording time for programs that may start later or go over the allotted program time:

  1. Press
    pvr
    on your remote

  2. Select
    Guide
    to view upcoming programs or
    Schedule
    to view your already scheduled recordings

  3. Select the program recording you want to extend

  4. Select
    Record Settings

  5. Choose whether to apply settings to a single episode or to the entire series

  6. Select the
    Stop Recording
    field

  7. Select between 5 minutes to 3 hours past the scheduled end time

  8. Save your new or updated settings

Keep recordings until you want to delete them

To protect your recordings from being deleted automatically:

  1. Press
    pvr
    on your remote

  2. Select
    Guide
    to view upcoming programs or
    Schedule
    to view your already scheduled recordings

  3. Select the program you want to keep

  4. Select
    Record Settings

  5. Choose whether to apply settings to a single episode or to the entire series

  6. Select
    SAVE UNTIL

  7. Use the arrows to select one of the following:

    • Keep until space needed
      deletes the program automatically when space is needed

    • Keep until I delete
      stores the program until it is manually deleted

  8. Select
    OK

Change the time slot you want a program series to be recorded in

  1. Press
    pvr
    on your remote

  2. Select
    Guide
    to view upcoming programs or
    Schedule
    to view your already scheduled recordings

  3. Select the program you want to change

  4. Select
    Record Settings

  5. Choose whether to apply settings to a single episode or to the entire series

  6. Select
    TIME

  7. Use the arrows to select the desired option and select
    OK

To indicate whether first run and rerun of a series will be recorded

  1. Press
    pvr
    on your remote.

  2. Select
    Schedule
    to view your scheduled recordings

  3. Select the program you want to specify

  4. Select
    Record Settings

  5. Choose whether to apply settings to a single episode or to the entire series

  6. Select
    SHOW TYPE

  7. Select
    First run only
    or
    First run & rerun
