With TELUS Wi-Fi Plus, you will experience the increased coverage in the primary locations inside your home. Wi-Fi speeds are dependent on the technical capabilities of individual devices. Individual results may vary depending on location, usage within the home network, number of connected devices on the Wi-Fi network, and the level of Wi-Fi and non-Wi-Fi RF interference in the home. One-time $175 installation fee applies for customers only subscribing to Wi-Fi Plus as a stand-alone product. The installation fee is waived for new customers subscribing to Wi-Fi Plus together with TELUS Internet, TELUS Smarthub, Optik TV, Smarthome Security, or Home Phone. Customers must have not been subscribed to either TELUS Internet, TELUS Smarthub, Optik TV, Smarthome Security, or Home Phone within the previous 90 days. The installation dispatch includes installation of the Wi-Fi Plus device(s) and a walk-test where required. Additional wiring charges may apply. Subscribers will get priority access to a dedicated team of Wi-Fi customer service representatives. TELUS Wi-Fi Plus subscription includes TELUS network security, which applies an extra layer of security to your modem to protect you from malicious web content. Cancel at any time without penalty. Rental equipment must be returned in good condition upon cancellation of service, otherwise the replacement cost will be charged to the account.
- Wired backhaul is more reliable because it uses a wired connection to transmit data, rather than Wi-Fi, which is an unlicensed spectrum, subject to uncontrollable interference. A wired backhaul also enables a better Wi-Fi experience as the connection between access points is not using up valuable air time, as a result, that airtime can be used by client devices on the network.
- The 30 day Wi-Fi Plus Dead-Spot Free Guarantee provides eligible customers access to a technician visit within 30 days from the date of installation if any area within the service address experiences a Wi-Fi signal strength below -75 dBm in the 5GHz band (“Dead Spot”). Guarantee subject to change without notice.
Customers must contact our support center within the 30-day period to report any Dead Spots. Our support team will perform remote diagnostics to verify the issue. If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, a technician will be dispatched to the customer's home at no additional cost, provided that the customer permits the TELUS representative to access the home.
This guarantee is non-transferable and applies solely to the Wi-Fi Plus service and within the home where the service was originally installed. Changes to the home network configuration or physical environment, including, but not limited to,renovations or additions of new devices, after installation may impact Wi-Fi performance and are not covered by this guarantee. The guarantee does not cover issues caused by external interference, customer equipment, or internet service provider outages.
