What you need to do before you transfer your number to TELUS Business
Before you begin the number porting process, please ensure the following:
You have an active TELUS Mobility account.
You have a new TELUS SIM card (or eSIM).
You have the device you’ll use with TELUS.
Your phone number and old SIM card (or eSIM) remain active.
You have the old account number or device IMEI number you use with your old service provider.
Your phone number’s area code matches your local service area.
Important
: Please keep your old SIM card (or eSIM) in your device. A text message will be sent to the number you want to transfer over. You must reply to the text message to complete your transfer.
Once the transfer is complete, your phone number will be cancelled with your old service provider.
Note
: You’ll also remain responsible for any outstanding device balance or service agreement from your old service provider.
Transferring a non-Koodo or Public Mobile number
For Canadian numbers, excluding Koodo and Public Mobile: Follow these steps below to complete the
Phone Number
section on the checkout page.
Note
: Keep your device with your old SIM (or eSIM) nearby and keep your number active with your old service provider until you complete the transfer. You’ll need it to verify your transfer request.

Once verified, enter your previous service provider's account number or PIN code.

I am authorized to transfer phone numbers and to cancel my account from my previous provider

to continue to the payments page and to complete your order.
For additional security and to validate the transfer, your old service provider may send you a text on the number you’re looking to transfer over to validate that you want to proceed with the transfer. You must reply
YES
to the text message within 90 minutes to approve the transfer.
To complete the transfer, once you receive your device, please call

from the number you want to transfer over and select option

. This will automatically complete the transfer.
Transferring a Koodo or Public Mobile phone number
For Koodo and Public Mobile numbers, follow the steps below to complete your transfer:
At checkout, select your city in the phone number section of the checkout page to get a temporary TELUS number.

Important
: Do not cancel your account until your number is successfully transferred over to the other provider. Once the transfer is complete, your service will be automatically cancelled.
