Internet Troubleshooting: Restart your modem or TELUS Boost Wi-Fi

Take these steps to restore your wired internet speed

Locate your modem

If you don't know where your modem is located in your home, the first place you should look is near a telephone jack, cable box or utility panel. If you have a basement, you might want to check there, too. If you are unable to locate your modem or Boost, please
contact a TELUS technical support agent
for assistance.

Your modem should resemble one of the following models. If you don't see your model listed here, contact us for a free upgrade.

  2. Wait 30 seconds before reconnecting the power cable on your modem, extender and/or Boost Wi-Fi

  3. Once restarted, the modem will take 2 minutes to re-boot

  4. Once 2 minutes has passed, check that you are connected to your Wi-Fi network in your device's Wi-Fi settings. Then, test your Internet connection again by launching your browser

Run a speed test

Once you've restarted your modem, use this speed test to estimate both the download and upload speed of your Internet connection.
