To install the Smart Garage Door Opener, you will need the following tools:

Congratulations. The Smart Garage Door Opener is now set up and ready for use.

If your garage door does not completely open or close after you send a remote command (i.e. through the Control Panel or via the TELUS SmartHome app), the Smart Garage Door Opener will allow you to try and send the command one more time. If the second attempt fails, the device will go into lockout mode.

If your device is in lockout mode, it will not accept any remote commands. Unlock the device by activating the door from the push button wall console instead.

Once you activate the door via the push button wall console, another command cannot be sent for 30 seconds. This eliminates the chance of the garage door “bouncing” and possibly damaging the Smart Garage Door Opener.

The Smart Garage Door Opener may be incompatible or may experience issues with models that draw power from the garage door opener (i.e. for LCD screens and lights).

If you have already installed our Smart Garage Door Opener and are experiencing issues, try removing the wall control and testing a remote command from your TELUS SmartHome app. If the command is successful, we recommend replacing the wall control with a basic unit.
