Installing your Slimline 2 (ADC-VDB105X) Doorbell Camera

Press your doorbell and listen for your doorbell chime to ring. If the existing doorbell does not ring the indoor chime when the button is pressed, there may be a power issue. Consult an electrician before beginning the installation process.

Check your Wi-Fi speed at the door: The Doorbell Camera requires a minimum of 2.5 Mbps upload speed to operate. In a browser on your smartphone visit

to determine the Internet speed.

Before beginning, turn off the breaker that controls your doorbell circuit.

Test the doorbell to make sure the power is off and it does not ring.

Remove the screws securing your doorbell to the wall

Check to see if there are two wires attached to the doorbell If the existing doorbell does not have wires then it is incompatible with the Doorbell Camera.

Remove the wires from the doorbell

Place the mounting bracket at the desired location, making sure it is level.

Using a pencil, mark the locations for the screw holes.

Using a 6mm (¼ inch) masonry drill bit, drill pilot holes for the wall anchors.

Push or hammer the wall anchors into the pilot holes.

Insert the doorbell wires through the hole in the mounting bracket.

Place the mounting bracket over the marked location for the screws.

Screw the mounting bracket into the siding or wall.

Unscrew the two terminal screws on the mounting bracket.

Insert the doorbell wires into the grooves of the mounting bracket and wrap them around the terminal screws.

Tighten the terminal screws to the mounting bracket.

Remove the screw on the bottom of the mounting bracket.

Hook the tabs on the top of the ADC-VDB105X Doorbell Camera into the notches on the top of mounting bracket.

Press the bottom face of the ADC-VDB105X Doorbell Camera, making it flush with the mounting bracket.

Insert and tighten the screw on the bottom of the mounting bracket to secure the ADC-VDB105X Doorbell Camera.

Remove the cover from your digital chime.

Remove the two wires from the digital chime terminals labelled "Transformer" and "Front".

Straighten the wires and insert them into the Digital Doorbell Adapter.

Secure the Digital Doorbell Adapter leads to digital chime terminals labelled "Transformer" and "Front".

Turn on the breaker that controls your doorbell circuit.

Wait for the ADC-VDB105X Doorbell Camera LED to flash green and red.

On your smartphone, exit the TELUS SmartHome app and go to the app.

Connect your smartphone to the Doorbell Camera’s temporary Wi-Fi network: .

After you are connected to the Wi-Fi network, return to the TELUS SmartHome app and select .

Select your home Wi-Fi network name from the list.

Type in your Wi-Fi network password and select .

Continue following the steps in the app until the installation is complete. This may take a few minutes.
