What is a discovery+ standalone subscription and how can I subscribe?
discovery+ is offered as a standalone subscription for existing TELUS customers. If you have at least one TELUS product, you can

What if I already have a discovery+ account?
After you complete your purchase of discovery+ through TELUS, you'll receive an activation email that will have steps required to link your existing discovery+ account with your TELUS account. Billing for your existing discovery+ subscription will then be transferred to TELUS.
I am an existing Stream+ customer. How do I get a discount on discovery+?
Existing Stream+ Basic or Stream+ Premium customers are eligible for a discount on discovery+ through TELUS. To ensure you get the discount added to your discovery+ standalone subscription, please make sure that you have already subscribed to Stream+ through the same My TELUS account that you are using to purchase discovery+.

I’ve purchased discovery+ through TELUS as a standalone subscription. How can I start watching content?
Once you sign up for discovery+, you will receive an email with activation instructions. Please follow the instructions in that email to ensure you have successfully activated discovery+.
If you already have an existing discovery+ account, you will be able to link that account so that you don’t lose your watch history or account details.
How do I cancel my discovery+ standalone subscription through TELUS?
You can cancel your discovery+ standalone subscription by following these steps:
If you do cancel your discovery+ subscription through TELUS, you will no longer have access to your streaming account through TELUS at the end of your current billing cycle.
If you already had an existing subscription to discovery+ before activating through TELUS, your subscription may automatically resume with the streaming service provider if your previous method of payment is still valid and on your account. Otherwise, you may have to update your payment information to resume service with the streaming service provider again.

What is the difference between discovery+ on TELUS Stream+ and discovery+ on Optik TV?
discovery+ has two subscription plans: discovery+ and discovery+(Ad-Free). Both plans are available as a standalone, but only discovery+(Ad-Free) is available to add to your Optik TV package.
If I’m an existing discovery+ subscriber, does anything change with my discovery+ account once I activate with Optik TV (such as My List, Preferences, etc.)?

Yes. The email address on your discovery+ account and My TELUS account can be different.
How does billing work for discovery+?
If you’ve purchased discovery+ as part of Optik TV, TELUS offers third-party billing for video streaming subscription services like discovery+. Once you add and activate discovery+ to your Optik TV package, you will be billed once a month for discovery+ via your Optik TV bill.
If you’ve purchased discovery+ as a standalone subscription, it will be charged directly to your credit card or debit card that you’ve used to purchase the product.
I was billed twice by both Discovery and TELUS for my subscription. What do I do?
The cause of the double billing may be due to signing up for discovery+ as part of your Optik TV package without completing the activation steps described above, since your discovery+ (Ad-Free) payment method was not linked to your TELUS Optik TV package yet.

What if I want discovery+ to be billed directly to me (through Discovery, not TELUS)?
If you want to be billed directly for discovery+, remove discovery+ from your Optik TV package. Once you do, you can change your payment preferences with Discovery directly.
Can I take discovery+ included in my Optik TV package instead of as an a-la-carte Additional Channel?
This option is currently not available. You can only add discovery+ as an a-la-carte

Can I choose the discovery+ ad-supported plan instead of discovery+(Ad-Free) as part of my Optik TV package?
No. discovery+ ad-supported plan is not included in Optik TV packages. If you are interested in discovery+ ad-supported plan, please consider signing up for discovery+ as a standalone.
If I move, does this impact my discovery+ subscription?
No. If you purchased discovery+ as part of your Optik TV package, and as long as your Optik TV service continues at your new address, this will not impact your discovery+ subscription.
If Optik TV is not available at your new address, you’ll receive an email from Discovery to update your payment method. If you purchased discovery+ as a standalone subscription, it will not be impacted by a change in address.
If I disconnect my Optik TV services, how will it impact my discovery+ subscription?
If you disconnect your Optik TV service, you’ll receive an email from Discovery asking you to update your payment method. TELUS will no longer manage your payment if you downgrade or cancel.
If you purchased discovery+ as a standalone subscription, it will not be impacted by disconnecting your Optik TV services.
I think I created a new discovery+ account by accident or misspelled my email address. How do I activate my proper discovery+ account?
How do I remove the discovery+ subscription from my Optik TV package?
You can remove your discovery+ (Ad-Free) subscription through your My TELUS Account without causing additional early cancellation fees. You’ll be responsible for updating your payment method with Discovery after this point.
If you wish to cancel your discovery+ account altogether, remove it from your Optik TV subscription, then log in to your discovery+ account to cancel your subscription.
If you cancel during your billing cycle, you will see pro-rated charges for the remaining days of the month, if applicable.
