Watch live TV and access a large On Demand library of TV shows and movies on your Android TV device with your Optik TV, Pik TV or Stream+ subscription.

__Requirements and restrictions__

- Subscription to TELUS Internet, Optik TV/Pik TV/Stream+ and live channels is required. Licensing and rights limitations mean that not all programs and channels are available when not connected to your TELUS home Internet.
- Stream+ customers who don’t have a subscription to Optik TV or Pik TV will not have access to all of the features of the TELUS TV+ app. Please visit our [Stream+](https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/learn-about-stream) support page for more details on Stream+.
- My TELUS or Koodo account username and password are required to log in to this service.
- The TELUS TV+ mobile app can only be used in Canada.

__Note__: Due to rights restrictions on our programming, the TELUS TV+ app will not work while your mobile device is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

__Supported devices__

The TELUS TV+ app for Android TV is currently supported on Nvidia Shield, Sony TVs running Android TV and Chromecast with Google TV. 


TELUS TV+ app for Android TV / Features, requirements and restrictions

To install the TELUS TV+ app on your Android TV, you can click on this [Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.optiktv&hl=en_CA&gl=US&pli=1) link to download the TELUS TV+ app or search for “TELUS TV plus” in the Google Play Store to download the app. You will need a valid Google username and password and your country/region set to Canada.

Use your My TELUS username and password to log in to the app. You can register for a [My TELUS account](https://www.telus.com/my-telus-registration)  or a [Koodo account](https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/registering-self-serve) to log in to the TELUS TV+ app.


TELUS TV+ app for Android TV / Install the TELUS TV+ mobile app on Android TV

__Home__

From the TELUS TV+ Home screen, you can __Resume__ your On Demand programming, browse your __Favourites__, view your recent __purchases__ and see what’s new and featured on TELUS TV+. You can also navigate to __Live TV__, __On Demand__, __Guide__, __Settings__ or __Search__ at the top of your screen.

__Live TV__

All Optik/Pik TV/Stream+ customers have access to the live TV content included in their subscription. Live TV will show you what’s on now by category.

During live TV playback, press the middle of the d-pad on your remote to bring up program details, pause playback for up to 15 minutes or enable __Closed Captioning__ (CC) or __Described Video__ (DV). 

Press down once on your remote to bring up the __Live TV__ schedule and see what’s __On now__ on other channels. You can also record your current program by clicking the record icon.

You can pause live TV for up to 15 minutes using the select button (in the middle of the d-Pad) on your Android TV remote and you can also restart programs that are currently in progress by selecting the restart icon in the progress bar on screen.     

__Note__: Due to content provider restrictions, some channels are only available when connected to your TELUS home Internet, and not all programming is available to restart. Fast-forward may be blocked on paused and restarted programs by the content provider.

__On Demand__

All Optik/Pik TV customers have access to the On Demand content included in their subscription, a selection of TELUS-exclusive titles in __TELUS Presents__ as well as a selection of On Demand movies available for rental.

__Note__: Some On Demand content may have pause, rewind or fast-forward disabled by the content provider.

__Guide__

In the __Guide__ section, you can see what’s playing today and over the next 10 days. Any shows with a home icon in the guide indicate that this programming is only available when connected to your TELUS home Internet. 

You can also filter your guide by selecting the filter icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Filter options are:

- All channels will display all of the channels that are available on TELUS TV+.
- __My subscribed channels__ will display all of the channels that you have in your Optik TV subscription.
- __Playable on this device__ will display all of the channels that you are subscribed to and can watch on this device. Note that some channels are only available when connected to your TELUS home internet connection.

When you select a program that is on now, it will take you to the live TV player.

When you select a program that is airing in the future, it will bring up the episode information page. From here you can set a recording either for the episode or for the series and view showtimes.

__Recordings__

In the __Recordings__ section, you will see both __Recorded__ and __Scheduled__ programs. For programs that have already been recorded, you will see them organized as __Recently recorded__ as well as all __Recorded items__. 

Under an individual recording, you will see information including season and episode details, the date the program was recorded and run time. For series recordings, you will see the number of episodes recorded. You can also delete existing recordings or edit your recording settings. 

Under __Scheduled__, you can cancel upcoming recordings, edit your recording settings or resolve recording conflicts. You can also __Sort__ and __Filter__ the views of existing and scheduled recordings. If you have the __Recordings__ bundle included as part of your Optik TV combo, you can also initiate playback of your recorded programs from the __Recordings__ menu.

__Search__

You can use the search function to find a movie, TV show or cast member, using the on-screen keyboard or voice remote where available. If searching for a movie or TV series, your search results will include both live and On Demand viewing options for your title. If searching for a specific cast member, your search results will provide a list of available live or On Demand titles where that cast member appeared.

__Settings__

You can access your settings by going to __Profile__ -> __Settings__ in the top-right corner, where you can visit a short how-to tutorial under __The Basics__ section, visit TELUS TV+ online support material and read TELUS’s privacy policy.

You can also set your accessibility preferences including enabling __Closed Captioning__ or __Described Video__.

How to use the TELUS TV+ mobile app / Features, requirements and restrictions

The TELUS TV+ app can stream or share content to compatible devices via Chromecast and Apple Airplay. 

__Steps for Chromecast__ 

Please follow the steps below to use Chromecast to stream or share content from the TELUS TV+ app to any Chromecast-enabled device.

1. 2. Select the TV you want to cast the video to. __Steps for Apple AirPlay__

Please follow the steps below to use Apple AirPlay to stream or share content from the TELUS TV+ app to your Apple TV.

1. Tap the AirPlay button while in the video player on the TELUS TV+ app.

2. Select your Apple TV. The TV must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the device using the TELUS TV+ app for this to work.

3. A "Connected to AirPlay" message will appear on the screen, allowing you to watch TELUS TV+ content on your Apple TV.

During live TV playback in portrait mode, you can view __Details__, see what’s __On now__ and __Up next__ and browse other channels. You can also record your current program by tapping the record icon.

To go full screen, simply rotate your device to landscape mode. You can press once on the screen to bring up program information and turn on __closed captioning__ (CC) or __described video__ (AD). A second press will close the information and audio settings.

__Settings__

In __Settings__, you can visit a short how-to tutorial in __The Basics__, visit TELUS TV+ online support material and read TELUS’s privacy policy.

You can also enable or disable __Streaming over mobile networks__ (you will need to enable this to enjoy TELUS TV+ content when not connected to Wi-Fi). Regular data charges will apply. You can also set your accessibility preferences, including enabling __Closed Captioning__ or __Described Video__.
