How to set up your TELUS TV Digital Box Remote

: Flashes green once to acknowledge a button press on the TELUS Remote. Two flashes indicate success, three flashes indicate low battery and six flashes indicate an error. Continual flashing indicates that a firmware upgrade is in process.

Your TELUS Remote is able to control your TELUS TV Digital Box using Infrared (IR) connectivity by default right out of the box.

For the most reliable connection, it is recommended to pair your TELUS Remote with your TELUS TV Digital Box using Bluetooth. Bluetooth connectivity has a longer working range than IR and does not require a direct line of sight between the remote and box. This gives you more freedom for where you place your TELUS TV Digital Box.

During the first-time installation or following a factory reset of your TELUS TV Digital Box, you will be prompted to pair your TELUS remote with your TELUS TV Digital Box via Bluetooth.

If you would like to unpair the Bluetooth connection between your TELUS Remote and your TELUS TV Digital Box, you can revert to IR connectivity. From the Home screen, navigate to and select .

Please note that Google Assistant will not function without a Bluetooth connection.

During the first-time installation or following a factory reset of your TELUS TV Digital Box, you will be given the option of controlling your TV’s power and volume using the TELUS remote.

If you would no longer like your TELUS Remote to control your TV’s volume and power, you can unpair your remote.

The TELUS Remote will now control only the TELUS TV Digital Box, and not your TV’s volume and power.

The TELUS TV Digital Box is equipped with Google Assistant. You can use your voice to control your TV, search for TV shows and movies, launch applications and more.

SImply press the button on your remote to activate the microphone. You will see the white LED on the remote activated and the Google Assistant interface on-screen.

Your first troubleshooting step for the TELUS Remote should be to check the battery life. From the Home screen, navigate to → → → → . You will see ‘Full’, ‘Good’, ‘Fair’ or ‘Poor’. If you see ‘Poor’, you should replace the existing batteries with 2 new AAA batteries. You may also want to ensure that your batteries are seated firmly in their connectors and that the battery cover is secure.

The next troubleshooting step should be to ensure that the remote control firmware is up-to-date. From the Home screen, you can check for firmware updates by navigating to → → → → . If a firmware update is available, you will be able to download and install it by pressing the ‘OK’ button on your remote.
