The Project Management Office (PMO) ensures that TAC projects are executed effectively and efficiently, assuring delivery on time and within budget. The PMO is responsible for developing and maintaining high standards by establishing best-in-class project management methodologies, standards, and tools. The Director communicates to Executive Management on all projects within the program portfolio. The Director of PMO oversees the project management process, including governance, team leadership, monitoring, prioritization, communication, and quality controls. The PMO Director should have a proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices, and substantial team leadership experience with a focus on team development in a software engineering context.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering.

Here’s how

  • Establish the PMO role and create a Center of Excellence in alignment with Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines, quality standards, and company requirements
  • Develop, implement, and govern program management processes, dashboards, templates, policies, and metrics
  • Monitor compliance with project policies and standards
  • Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within the scope, and on budget
  • Oversee outside vendor(s) to supplement staffing of projects/programs 
  • Interface with financial teams to ensure Capital projects are performing as budgeted
  • Lead collaboration across organizational boundaries to build an end-to-end commercial solutions and Engineering capabilities
  • Be able to develop solution requirements by working with various stakeholders
  • Manage projects and interface with agile teams using agile SDLC methodologies.
  • Maintain excellent communication with stakeholders to ensure early identification of issues and report those in a timely manner
  • Be comfortable operating with uncertainty, know how to create order from chaos
  • Build credibility and buy-in from teams and influence without authority
  • Coach and mentor PMO team members and share knowledge of best practices
  • Set annual performance targets for direct reports and conduct performance reviews

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 8+ years of Technical Project Management experience in an agile software development organization
  • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management, methodologies, techniques, and processes
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resourceful when managing changing timelines and multiple deliverables
  • Experience with project management tools such as Confluence/Jira
  • Excellent balance of interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills
  • Ability to evangelize and represent a technical community
  • Proven experience in leading globally distributed teams
  • Ability to define and manage project requirements/exit criteria and assist in high-level estimations
  • Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people
  • Proven ability to negotiate and problem solve, navigating complex situations and ambiguity
  • Experience managing and tracking budgets
  • Business Analytics & Reporting skills needed for data-driven decisions and team/project reporting
  • Strong relationship building/partnering skills with global cross-functional teams and the ability to work with varying levels of individual contributors and management
  • Experience managing and delivering end-user expectations
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and influence the team to deliver stellar products and quality

The US base salary range for this position is: $150k - $170k USD, with a 20% performance bonus. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within that range, individual pay is determined by work location and a variety of factors, which may include but not limited, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
