Learn how to use your TELUS TV Digital Remote, navigate the Optik TV Home Screen and more.
TELUS TV+ will automatically launch once you turn on your TELUS Digital TV Box. Once it launches, you can easily access all your content with a navigation menu at the top of your screen.

Here’s a quick rundown of the functions of your TELUS TV Digital Remote.
Steps to pair your TELUS Remote with your TELUS TV Digital Box
- Press and hold the7and9buttons for three seconds to start pairing.
- If your remote becomes unpaired at any time, pair your remote by following the same instructions in step 1 above.

When you start TELUS TV+, you will be brought to our

Search
You can use the search function to find a movie, TV show or cast member using the on-screen keyboard or the voice control feature of your TELUS TV Digital Box remote. If you're searching for a movie or TV series, your search results will include both live and On Demand viewing options for your title.
Live TV
All Optik TV and Pik TV customers have access to the live content included in their subscription. Live TV will show you what’s on now and you can check the guide or browse by surf zone categories: Major networks, Timeshift, Entertainment, Movies & series, Comedy & music and more.
During live TV playback, you can use the D-pad on your remote to access additional functionality and information:
- Press theOKbutton to pause/unpause live TV playback. You can pause live TV for up to 15 minutes.
- Press the up/down buttons to bring up the live guide to seeWhat’s on nowor what's on next.
- Press the left/right buttons to bring up the program information screen and you can:
- Open the live guide
- Record the current program
- Restart the current program from the beginning
- Return to the live point of the current program
- Turn on (or off) Closed Captioning (CC) or Described Video (D)
Guide
You can access the Guide from the Live TV screen or by pressing
Guide
on your TELUS TV Digital Box remote. In the Guide, you can see what’s playing today and over the next two weeks on the channels that are available to you.
You can also filter and sort your guide by selecting
Filter & sort
in the top right-hand corner of your screen. - Jump to date: You can view what’s on for the next 10 days
- Restart available: Filter to view only programming that is available to be restarted.
- Filter by channels:
- My subscribed channelswill display all of the channels that you have in your Optik TV or Pik TV subscription.
- My favourite channelswill display all of the channels that you have favourited
- All Channelswill display all of the channels that are available on Optik TV or Pik TV
On Demand
All Optik TV and Pik TV customers have access to the On Demand content included in their subscription as well as a selection of On Demand movies available for rental. You can browse by New Movies This Week, Most Viewed Movies, Channels, TV Shows, Early Releases, TELUS Presents and more.
Note
: You can pause, rewind or fast forward On Demand TV shows and movies included in your subscription, but these features may be disabled on select programming by the content provider. You can pause, rewind or fast forward On Demand movies available for rental.Recordings
To access the 
Recordings
page, press and hold the rec
button on your remote or navigate to the Recordings
icon on the screen.
In the
Recordings
manager, you can see what programs that have already been Recorded
, as well as those that are Scheduled

tab, you can initiate playback or delete the recording by selecting the desired program. In the Scheduled

Profiles and Settings
Profiles can help you create a personalized TV viewing experience for your TELUS TV+ content. You can have up to six profiles per account.
You can create a new profile by selecting 
Add profile
on the Who’s watching
screen, and you can also create a Kids Profile
to enable tighter controls for the younger members of your household.

within Profiles, where you can:- Set your closed captioning and audio description settings
- Set a Parental or Purchase Pin
- Set your Profile information
- See your app and version information, and account information

TELUS Zones
TELUS Zones present specialized content to help you make the most of your TELUS TV+ experience. Check out your favourite sports teams and leagues on Sports zone and play games with your friends and family in Game zone.
TELUS Zones are only available on the TELUS TV Digital Box.
Sports zone
Sports zone provides a live view of what sports are currently being played. In order to access the content, a subscription to that channel is required.

Game zone
Game zone lets you play games and watch live streams straight from your TELUS TV Digital Box. Some of the games will require use of your smartphone or the TELUS TV Digital Remote.

Benefits and limitations
Benefits
- Set and watch your recordings across multiple devices with the TELUS TV Digital Box or the TELUS TV+ app.
- Unlimited storage capacity.
- Recordings will remain available should your TELUS TV Digital Box need to be replaced.
- Recording Optik TV programming will not consume any bandwidth.
- All your recordings will be available on your TELUS TV Digital Box, on the TELUS TV+ app or at.telustvplus.com
Limitations
- Playback of your Optik TV Recordings is only available on your TELUS TV Digital Box or your TELUS TV+ app in Canada.
- A maximum of six simultaneous recordings can be set.
- Recordings expire and will be automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Playback of your Optik TV recordings will consume normal TV watching bandwidth.
- Subscription to Optik TV and Recordings required.
- Recordings are included in select Optik TV combos or available as an add-on for $10/month.
