Installing your Outdoor Camera (V722 model)
Install your V722 Outdoor Camera using these instructions

- Log in to your TELUS SmartHome app on your mobile device.
- SelectMoreat the bottom right-hand corner.
- Select+ Add device.
- SelectVideo camera.
- Select the correct camera type and proceed to the "Verify LED light" screen.
- Make sure the camera is plugged in and the LED is flashing white. If the LED is not flashing white, press and hold the button on the back of the camera until the LED starts flashing white and then release. SelectNexton the top right of the screen to continue.
- Please allow Alarm.com access to this device’s location. SelectAllow.
- Type in a name for your camera and selectNext.
- Once your device has been found, verify the last six digits of the MAC address (can be found on the back of the camera) and select the device you would like to install.
- Exit the TELUS SmartHome app and proceed to your phone’sSettingsto connect to theALARM (XX:XX:XX)network. After you successfully connect to the ALARM network, return to the TELUS SmartHome app and selectNext.
- Scan for your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the Wi-Fi password, then selectNext.
- After the installation process is completed, selectNext.
- SelectDoneat the additional setup screen.
- Your video feed should show up underVideoon your TELUS SmartHome app.
- Follow the instructions below to mount your Outdoor Camera.
Mount your Outdoor Camera
When selecting a location to mount your Outdoor Camera, there are 3 important considerations:
Wi-Fi strength
. Your camera requires a minimum of 2.5 MegaBits per second upload speed, but a stronger signal will create a more reliable and higher quality video feed. To test your Wi-Fi speed at your chosen location, run a speed test on a phone or laptop at that location by visiting telus.com/speedtest
Cable length
. Before mounting, you’ll need to plot a route to run the cable to a power outlet. In some cases, you may want to drill through a wall or run the cable along the siding. For more length, a DC extension cable can be purchased to insert between the camera and outlet segments of cable. The cable could be secured to the wall with staples, a cable track or raceway or any number of cable fasteners available at your local hardware store. Be sure to allow enough slack to adjust the cable as needed.Camera angle
. You will want to aim the camera with a good view. You can view the live feed of a connected camera in your SmartHome app. For your video analytics to work best, the camera should be 8 to 15 feet above the ground.To mount the outdoor camera, you’ll need to drill holes into the wall. Use the longer screws that were included with the camera if you’re drilling into wood, and we recommend using the anchors for stucco or brick walls. You can then mount the camera body into the wall using the included screws.
