Logging in to your My TELUS with 2-factor authentication
Here’s what to expect when logging into your My TELUS account with 2-factor authentication enabled.
Getting your verification code
When you log in on a device or browser that we do not recognize, you will be prompted to enter a code. Here’s how to retrieve it:
Open your My TELUS app on your primary phone.
If you’re already logged into the app, you’ll see the verification code screen immediately upon opening the app. If you don’t see it immediately, select

Get verification code
If you’re not logged into the app, you can get your code by selecting
Get verification code
on the app login screen
Once you have your 6-digit verification code, enter it on the device or browser you’re trying to log in on
Tip
: Make sure you enter the code immediately, as it will refresh every 30 seconds for your security.
Logging in with your recovery method
If you don’t have your primary phone with you, you can use your recovery method to log in.

A 6-digit verification code will be sent to the recovery method you set up.
Once you have your verification code, enter it on the device or browser you’re trying to log in on
Logging in with backup codes
If you don’t have your primary phone with you, you can use your backup codes to log in.
Find your backup codes where you saved them or wrote them down during setup
Enter one of your 6-digit backup codes on the device or browser you’re trying to log in on
Tip
: Backup codes can only be used once, so make sure you’re not using a previously used backup code.
Understanding trusted devices
When you log in on a new device or browser and are asked to provide a verification code, you are given the opportunity to trust that device. This means that the next time you log in on that device and browser, you won’t be asked for a verification code.

: We do not recommend this option for a shared or public computer, as it could expose your account to a security risk.
