|
The commands are sometimes slow to respond | We are continuing to work hard with Amazon to improve the speed of the commands. If you are experiencing extended slow response time, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
|
“Search for” and “Find” commands are not always triggering a response. | These two commands are being developed to make it easier for you to search. In the meantime, please use the phrase “Show me”. |
Issues with commands while in the Stingray Music, Youtube and Netflix apps on 4K boxes. | TELUS Home Assistant does not currently support searching using voice in the Stingray Music, Netflix or YouTube app on 4K boxes. You can, however, use the search command to find content on Live TV and On Demand. |
I can’t tune the channels by name | Just say "Alexa, tune to CBC on living room TV." Do not say, "Alexa open TELUS and then tune to CBC." Opening TELUS Skill is for managing your accounts, such as billing, data, troubleshooting, etc. |
Unable to tune to a Live TV channel while on On Demand content. | Please repeat the command. Our teams are working hard to resolve this defect upon a future release. |
Direct play on TV | We are working with Amazon to improve and bring the best features to you. Unfortunately, at this time you will not be able to play the movie or content directly on the TV through voice. However, you can search for the content with voice, but for the final step you will have to use the remote to press the play button. |
Search with the name of a movie or series | With Alexa, you will have to say "series" after the series’ name, and "movie" after the movie's name. For example, if you are searching for “Westworld,” you will say “search for Westworld series," and if you are searching for the movie “Jumanji,” you will say "search for Jumanji movie." |
Fast forward and rewind does 30 second skips. | Please skip ahead or skip back by duration while our teams work on improving this feature. |
"Launch scheduled recording" does not work even though Alexa responds positively. | At this moment, you cannot launch scheduled recordings. However, you can “launch recordings” or “go to recordings”. |
My Alexa-enabled device is responding to the search command, but no changes occur on the TV. | The channel you are searching for is not in the Channel Map. Try tuning to the channel by channel name. |
Alexa does not discover any of my SmartHome Security devices | If you purchased your TELUS SmartHome Security before Sept 11, 2020, please refer to Migrate your SmartHome Security credentials on the My TELUS page |
I only have an Alarm.com username and not a My TELUS username | At this time, TELUS Home Assistant is only available for customers set up with My TELUS accounts linked to their Smart Home Security products.
If you have an Alarm.com username, you can use the Alarm.com skill available on the Alexa Skill store. |
I can’t lock my SmartHome Security door | This feature is not available at this time. |
"Turn off the volume" is not working | Please try again using the phrase: “Hey Alexa, mute on ‹device nickname›”. Alexa responds twice to every command. This should not affect the performance of the command appearing on screen and will be resolved in a future release. |
"Tune to previous channel" command does not work | This will be resolved in a future release. Please use the channel tune command as an alternative: “Hey Alexa tune into channel 101 on "device nickname” or “Hey Alexa tune into CTV with "device nickname” |
Alexa says “recording” while the screen may say “this program cannot be recorded” | This will appear when you attempt to record on an unsubscribed channel or On Demand content. You cannot record on demand content |
