How to use the TELUS TV+ app for Android TV

Watch live TV and access a large On Demand library of TV shows and movies on your Android TV device with your Optik TV, Pik TV or Stream+ subscription.

: Due to rights restrictions on our programming, the TELUS TV+ app will not work while your mobile device is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

The TELUS TV+ app for Android TV is currently supported on Nvidia Shield, Sony TVs running Android TV and Chromecast with Google TV.

To install the TELUS TV+ app on your Android TV, you can click on this

link to download the TELUS TV+ app or search for “TELUS TV plus” in the Google Play Store to download the app. You will need a valid Google username and password and your country/region set to Canada.

Use your My TELUS username and password to log in to the app. You can register for a

to log in to the TELUS TV+ app.

From the TELUS TV+ Home screen, you can your On Demand programming, browse your , view your recent and see what’s new and featured on TELUS TV+. You can also navigate to , , , or at the top of your screen.

All Optik/Pik TV/Stream+ customers have access to the live TV content included in their subscription. Live TV will show you what’s on now by category.

During live TV playback, press the middle of the d-pad on your remote to bring up program details, pause playback for up to 15 minutes or enable (CC) or (DV).

Press down once on your remote to bring up the schedule and see what’s on other channels. You can also record your current program by clicking the record icon.

You can pause live TV for up to 15 minutes using the select button (in the middle of the d-Pad) on your Android TV remote and you can also restart programs that are currently in progress by selecting the restart icon in the progress bar on screen.

: Due to content provider restrictions, some channels are only available when connected to your TELUS home Internet, and not all programming is available to restart. Fast-forward may be blocked on paused and restarted programs by the content provider.

All Optik/Pik TV customers have access to the On Demand content included in their subscription, a selection of TELUS-exclusive titles in as well as a selection of On Demand movies available for rental.

: Some On Demand content may have pause, rewind or fast-forward disabled by the content provider.

In the section, you can see what’s playing today and over the next 10 days. Any shows with a home icon in the guide indicate that this programming is only available when connected to your TELUS home Internet.

You can also filter your guide by selecting the filter icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Filter options are:

When you select a program that is on now, it will take you to the live TV player.

When you select a program that is airing in the future, it will bring up the episode information page. From here you can set a recording either for the episode or for the series and view showtimes.

In the section, you will see both and programs. For programs that have already been recorded, you will see them organized as as well as all .

Under an individual recording, you will see information including season and episode details, the date the program was recorded and run time. For series recordings, you will see the number of episodes recorded. You can also delete existing recordings or edit your recording settings.

Under , you can cancel upcoming recordings, edit your recording settings or resolve recording conflicts. You can also and the views of existing and scheduled recordings. If you have the bundle included as part of your Optik TV combo, you can also initiate playback of your recorded programs from the menu.

You can use the search function to find a movie, TV show or cast member, using the on-screen keyboard or voice remote where available. If searching for a movie or TV series, your search results will include both live and On Demand viewing options for your title. If searching for a specific cast member, your search results will provide a list of available live or On Demand titles where that cast member appeared.
