Tips to help you fix issues with your Boost 6E Mini
Fix your internet and Wi-Fi connection or disconnection issues
Are you experiencing Wi-Fi connection or disconnection issues on some of your devices? Log in to My TELUS to automatically fix Wi-Fi issues. If you need help, you can request a callback with a support representative.
Set up your Boost 6E Mini
If you have a Boost Wi-Fi 6 or Boost Wi-Fi 6E:
- Power on your Boost 6E Mini close to your Boost Wi-Fi 6.
- Connect the Boost 6E Mini to your Boost Wi-Fi 6 with an Ethernet cable to sync them.
- Wait for the LED on the Boost 6E Mini to turn solid green. If you see a slow pulsing green, that is fine as well. This can take up to 3 minutes.
- A firmware upgrade may take place at this time. The LED will flash purple and the Boost 6E Mini will reboot once this is complete and the LED will turn solid green. If you see a slow pulsing green, that is fine as well. This may take 5 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the Ethernet cable and unplug your Boost 6E Mini from power.
- Move your Boost 6E Mini closer to the area of your home where Wi-Fi coverage is needed and power on. Connect to a nearby Ethernet wall outlet if available.
- If successful, the Boost 6E Mini LED will turn solid green. This can take up to 5 minutes. If the LED is not solid green, refer to thesection to resolve.LED status light indicators
If you have multiple Boost 6E Mini devices and a TELUS Wi-Fi Hub modem:
- Power on your first Boost 6E Mini close to your modem and plug it directly into the TELUS Wi-Fi Hub via Ethernet.
- Leave your first Boost 6E Mini to set up automatically. Setup will be complete when your LED turns solid green. This may take 5 to 10 minutes. If the LED is not solid green, refer to thesection to resolve.LED status light indicators
- Power on the second Boost 6E Mini and plug it directly into the TELUS Wi-Fi Hub via Ethernet as well.
- If successful, this LED will flash green before going solid green. If you see a slow pulsing green, that is fine as well.
- If unsuccessful, this LED will go solid red.
- A firmware upgrade may take place at this time. The LED will flash purple and the Boost 6E Mini will reboot once this is complete and the LED will turn solid green. If you see a slow pulsing green, that is fine as well. This may take 5 to 10 minutes.
- Unplug your second Boost 6E Mini and move it closer to the area of your home where Wi-Fi coverage is needed and power on. Connect to a nearby Ethernet wall outlet if available.
- If successful, the Boost 6E Mini LED will turn solid green. This can take up to 5 minutes. If the LED is not solid green, refer to thesection to resolve.LED status light indicators
If you have multiple Boost 6E Mini devices and an Advanced Wi-Fi Modem (T3200M):
- Power on your first Boost 6E Mini close to your modem and plug your Boost 6E Mini via Ethernet into the Ethernet switch that is plugged into the Advanced Wi-Fi Modem (T3200M). This Ethernet switch should have been provided by your technician.
- Leave your first Boost 6E Mini to set up automatically. Setup will be complete when your LED turns solid green. This may take 5 to 10 minutes. If the LED is not solid green, refer to thesection to resolve.LED status light indicators
- Power on the second Boost 6E Mini and also plug it into the Ethernet switch that is plugged into the Advanced Wi-Fi Modem (T3200M).
- If successful, this LED will flash green before going solid green. If you see a slow pulsing green, that is fine as well.
- If unsuccessful, this LED will go solid red.
- A firmware upgrade may take place at this time. The LED will flash purple and the Boost 6E Mini will reboot once this is complete and the LED will turn solid green. If you see a slow pulsing green, that is fine as well. This may take 5 to 10 minutes.
- Unplug your second Boost 6E Mini and move it closer to the area of your home where Wi-Fi coverage is needed and power on.
- If successful, the Boost 6E Mini LED will turn solid green. This can take up to 5 minutes. If the LED is not solid green, refer to thesection to resolve.LED status light indicators
LED status light indicators
You can use the following information to troubleshoot during or after installation, if required.
No colour:
Check if the power cable is plugged into the Boost 6E Mini and power outlet.Solid red or flashing blue:
Your Boost 6E Mini is not connected to the network.- If your Boost 6E Mini is wired to the modem, then check your Ethernet connection
- If a flashing blue LED persists, try re-pairing your Boost 6E Mini with the Boost Wi-Fi 6 connected to the modem..Set up your Boost 6E Mini
Solid white:
No action required. Your Boost 6E Mini is starting up. It may take up to five minutes for your Boost 6E Mini to complete setup. This process is complete when the LED is a solid green.Flashing purple:
Your Boost 6E Mini software is updating. Do not turn off your Boost 6E Mini during this time. The LED will turn solid green when finished.Solid green:
No action required. Your Boost 6E Mini has a good Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.Flashing green:
No action required. Your Boost 6E Mini is connecting to your home network. This process will take about 10 seconds. Slow pulsing green or slow pulsing blue:
Your Boost 6E Mini is working, but is too close to another Boost device which can cause interference. Try moving one of the Boost devices further away to optimize performance.Flashing white:
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode. Within two minutes of pressing the WPS button, press the WPS button on the device you wish to connect. If LED turns red for 10 seconds, pairing has failed; try again. If LED turns white for 10 seconds, pairing was successful.Solid blue:
Your Boost 6E Mini is working but has a weak signal. Moving it closer to the Boost Wi-Fi connected to your modem will improve performance.Solid amber:
Your Boost 6E Mini is working, but one or more Wi-Fi radios are disabled.My Boost 6E Mini is not working
- Check that there are lights on the Boost 6E Mini
- Reboot Boost 6E Mini by unplugging the power cable for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in
- Confirm that the power cable at the Boost 6E Mini and power outlet are connected
- If the customer is connected to a power strip, check that other devices connected to that device also work
- If the customer is connected to a wall outlet, have the customer make sure it's not connected to a wall switch
- Try another wall outlet.
My network speed is slow
If you're experiencing speed issues with your Boost 6E Mini, try these troubleshooting techniques:
- Move closer to your nearest Boost 6E Mini
- Reboot your wireless device (example: laptop, mobile phone)
- Ensure the LED light on your Boost 6E Mini is solid green. If the light isn't green, please refer to the section "LED status light indicators” above
- On the back of your Boost 6E Mini, unplug the cable labeled “Power (reboot)” and plug it back in to reboot your Boost 6E Mini”

Factory reset your Boost 6E Mini
Note:
Factory resetting your Boost 6E Mini will revert your network name and admin password to the defaults shown on the front of the unit.- Press and hold the pinhole factory reset button for five seconds and then release it. If successful the LED of the extender will flash red
- Proceed to set up your Boost 6E Mini..Set up your Boost 6E Mini
When to factory reset?
In case your Boost 6E Mini fails to connect and all other troubleshooting is unsuccessful, please try the following, as applicable to your situation:Situation 1:
At least one Boost 6E Mini is disconnected (showing red LED):- Factory reset the connected Boost 6E Mini unit(s) as per the factory reset steps above
- Factory reset any Boost 6E Mini unit showing a red LED individually
- Recheck the Ethernet connection of the Boost 6E Mini hardwired to your modem (if using an Ethernet connection)
- Next, rename your network name.
Situation 2:
All the Boost 6E Mini units are connected (no red LEDs). Non-red LEDs will reset together- Factory reset the connected Boost 6E Mini devices as per the factory reset steps above.
Boost 6E Mini isn’t showing up on the TELUS Connect App
If your Boost 6E Mini devices don’t show up on the TELUS Connect App, make sure to log in to the app properly, then reboot the modem. If the app does not seem to be working correctly, try redownloading the app.
