To install your Control Panel, make sure you have the following in addition to the included equipment:

- Broadband internet connection with Wi-Fi router
- Wi-Fi network name and password
- Master code (will be used for arming and disarming your security system)

Before powering up the Control Panel, follow the step-by-step guide included inside the box to begin the installation of your Control Panel using your TELUS SmartHome app.

Follow the instructions in the mobile app. Once you have reached the step to install your Control Panel, you will be shown how to:

- Power up the panel
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network using the panel

Choosing the location of your Control Panel is an important decision because the rest of the system will be designed and tested to work with the device in that location. Any movement of the Control Panel after the installation should be kept to a minimum.

__Here are some tips for selecting the location of your Control Panel__:

__✓__  Make sure this is a convenient location in the home - usually near the main entrance

__✓__  Your Control Panel should be in close proximity to a power outlet

__✓__  The location should be within Wi-Fi range

__Note__: If you are experiencing connectivity problems after your installation, double check your Control Panel has not been moved. If yes, make sure the panel is relocated back to the original location and see if this resolves your issues.

Installing your Control Panel / Where to place your Control Panel

After your Control Panel is set up, it will periodically upgrade to ensure you have all of the features available in addition to ensuring your system continues to operate smoothly. Make sure your panel is connected to a working Wi-Fi connection in your home to download the latest firmware. When new firmware is available for upgrading, your panel will download the update and reboot once your system is disarmed.  

The latest update available for your panel is Firmware 2.5.2. This release allows you to [__enable Scenes on your Control Panel__](https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/enabling-scenes-control-panel). If you are not on the latest firmware, call TELUS at 1-855-255-8828.

2. Attach the table stand and tighten the screw to secure

3. Plug in the power adapter and press and hold the power button to turn on the Control Panel

__Connect your Automation Hub__:

If you are having issues pairing your Z-Wave devices, or if your devices have stopped responding, do the following:

Wait for the communication LEDs to become solid again before further using the device.
2. __Factory reset your Automation Hub__: If power cycling your Automation Hub does not resolve your issue, you can factory reset your Automation Hub.
   - __Warning__: You will need to re-pair all of your Z-Wave devices to the Automation Hub again. __If this is the first time you are installing the TELUS SmartHome Security system__, before you install your sensors, make sure to follow the step-by-step guide included in the box first. After you complete these steps and successfully set up the Control Panel, you can then add more devices to your account.

To add a sensor to your security system, use your TELUS SmartHome app and follow the instructions below:

1. Log in to your TELUS SmartHome app on your mobile device
2. Select __More__ on the bottom right-hand corner

3. Select __+ Add Device__

5. Select your device and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup

Once all of your sensors are added successfully, you will be shown how to complete a walk test to confirm that each sensor is working as expected. If you experience any issues at any time during your installation, please call TELUS at __1-855-255-8828__.

__I am unable to add the sensor to my TELUS SmartHome Security system__

If you are unable to add the 4-Button Keyring Remote, try resetting your device. First, press and hold the * button until the LED lights steady (takes about 5-10 seconds). Then, release the key while the LED is still lit. This will reset the device and you can now re-add your device.

__How to test my 4-Button Keyring Remote__

To test your 4-Button Keyring Remote after the installation is complete, see instructions below:

| Away Arm       | Hold button for 1 second, Control Panel should now show Arm Away status       |

| Panic       | Before you test this button, call TELUS at 1-855-255-8828 to put your account into test mode first. Next, hold the button for 3 seconds. Your Control Panel should now be in alarm mode.       |
